Azerbaijan and Kyrgyz Railways strengthen joint efforts to develop the Middle Corridor

On September 19–20, 2024, during the consultative meeting of railway administration heads on the establishment of the International Association "Eurasian Transport Route" held in Baku, another meeting took place between the Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways, Rovshan Rustamov, and the Deputy Director General of the State Enterprise "National Company Kyrgyz Railways," Dastan Usubakunov.

The meeting focused on the prospects for developing cooperation in the railway sector between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan, issues of mutual interest, as well as joint activities aimed at developing the Middle Corridor.

Additionally, both parties noted the potential for increasing the volume of cargo transported from China through Kyrgyzstan, emphasizing that the imminent completion of the Uzbekistan–Kyrgyzstan–China railway line will further expand the capabilities of the Eurasian Transport Route.
