Zangezur

Thanks to the great victory, gained by Azerbaijani army in the 44-day Patriotic War, the liberation of Azerbaijan’s lands opened wide opportunities for a successful promotion of transport corridors through the country. Along with the restoration of railways in the liberated areas, work began on the construction of the Zangazur corridor.
  Zangazur corridor will increase region’s transit and logistics potential. The realization of this potential will lead to the creation of new transport routes and strengthening cooperation in the region.
  Zangazur corridor will provide a great opportunity for the development of the regional economy. The corridor will connect Azerbaijan with Turkey and European countries, as well as the countries of Central Asia. In addition, transport routes to Russia and Iran are being activated.
  The operation of the Zangazur Corridor will lead to the development of several transport corridors, in particular the East-West and North-South transport corridors.
  The length of the Horadiz-Agbend railway line, an integral part of the Zangazur corridor, the foundation of which was laid by the President of Azerbaijan on February 2021, is 110.4 kilometers. The construction of the railway line is being carried out in three stages.
  Design and construction work is carried out in parallel with the demining process.
  The project is scheduled to complete for 2023.
