On February 10, 2026, in Ashgabat, a quadrilateral meeting was held between Rovshan Rustamov, Chairman of “Azerbaijan Railways” CJSC (ADY), a company within AZCON Holding, Mammed Akmammedov, Minister of Railway Transport of Turkmenistan, Zufar Narzullayev, Chairman of the Board of “Uzbekistan Railways” JSC, and Lasha Abashidze, Director General of “Georgian Railways” JSC.
They reviewed issues of mutual interest in the railway sector and opportunities to expand cooperation on the Middle Corridor, one of the region’s main transit routes, also sharing views on enhancing the competitiveness of this corridor and increasing the volume of freight transported along this route. The importance of digitizing operations to ensure faster, more efficient cargo transportation was emphasized.
It was noted that the “Memorandum of Understanding on Transport and Logistics Cooperation between the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Railway Transport of Turkmenistan, and the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan,” signed last August in the city of Turkmenbashi, will make an important contribution to expanding cooperation.
The quadrilateral meeting wrapped up in the signing of a protocol covering multiple directions such as digitalization, the development of freight transportation along the Middle Corridor, and diagnostics of the corridor.
