Azerbaijan, Russia Shake Hands for Faster Cargo Flows via Digitalization

On Wednesday, in Baku, Rovshan Rustamov, Chairman of “Azerbaijan Railways” CJSC (ADY), part of AZCON Holding, and Oleg Belozyorov, Director General and Chairman of the Board of “Russian Railways” JSC discussed key issues to bilateral agenda, including digitization and optimization of cargo operations. 

During the meeting, they zeroed in on broader cooperation between the railway administrations of the two countries, strengthening mutual coordination, improving the efficiency of routes, and ensuring the safety of transportation processes.

The talks also focused on the digitalization of freight transportation, including the introduction of digital solutions, accelerating data exchange, and optimizing the logistics chain.

The negotiations conclued in signing of a bilateral agreement on electronic data exchange. The agreement is expected to enable full digital document circulation and enhance the overall efficiency of freight transportation.
