Cooperation Opportunities Discussed Between ADY and Georgia’s Leading Logistics Companies and Ports

Cooperation Opportunities Discussed Between ADY and Georgia’s Leading Logistics Companies and Ports

Rovshan Rustamov, Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY), a company within AZCON Holding,  held meetings with the management of PACE Group, Georgia’s leading logistics company responsible for terminal operations at the Port of Poti, as well as with the management of Batumi Sea Port.

During the meetings, the importance of expanding cooperation between the logistics companies and seaports of the two countries was emphasized.

As the ADY delegation familiarized itself with port operations, they were informed that the strategically located Batumi and Poti ports on the Black Sea possess leading infrastructure for handling a wide range of cargo types.

ADY Chairman Rovshan Rustamov noted that rail–port operations in Azerbaijan are now organized under a unified management principle. The successful integration of the Port of Baku into ADY last year has had a positive impact on the port’s cargo handling performance. In particular, in 2025, the Port of Baku handled a record volume of more than 107,000 TEU of container cargo, representing a 40 percent increase compared to 2024.

The meetings also specifically highlighted that deepening cooperation and exchanging experience between the ports of Baku and Georgia would enable more efficient handling of the growing freight volumes along the Middle Corridor.
