Tajikistan's Opportunities for access to European Markets via the Middle Corridor discussed in Baku

On September 19–20, 2024, during a consultative meeting of railway administration heads on the establishment of the International Association "Eurasian Transport Route" held in Baku, a meeting took place between Rovshan Rustamov, Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways, and Sorbon Kulakhmadov, First Deputy Head of the State Unitary Enterprise "Tajikistan Railways."

The meeting focused on key areas of cooperation and development prospects in the field of railway transport between Azerbaijan and Tajikistan, particularly Tajikistan's opportunities for accessing European markets via the Middle Corridor.

It was noted that the delivery of goods via the China–Tajikistan highway, followed by railway transportation from Tajikistan westward through the Eurasian Transport Route, presents significant opportunities for diversifying cargo flows along the Middle Corridor.
