On the second day of the "InnoTrans" international exhibition held in Berlin, Germany, the delegation of the Azerbaijan Railways, led by Chairman Rovshan Rustamov, met with the heads of the railway administrations of Turkey, Romania, Lithuania, and Poland, as well as representatives from Germany's "DB Cargo", Switzerland's "Stadler Rail", and Japan's "Hitachi" companies.
The main topics of the meetings were the dynamics of the growth of transit shipments through the Middle Corridor, digital solutions offered to clients, as well as the additional benefits brought to the East-West corridor by the modernized Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway.
Additionally, the importance of establishing the International Association for the Eurasian Transport Route, whose consultation meeting was held in Baku on September 19-20, and its key role in diversifying freight directions through the Middle Corridor were discussed.
The Azerbaijan Railways leadership also visited the pavilions of these companies at the "InnoTrans" exhibition, where they were introduced to the latest technologies applied in the railway sector.
It is worth noting that Azerbaijan Railways is represented by a large delegation at the "InnoTrans" international exhibition, held in Berlin from September 24 to 27. The "InnoTrans" exhibition, gathering over 100,000 participants and held every two years, is one of the largest international exhibitions showcasing vehicles and technologies for public transport, including railways.
The main themes of "InnoTrans 2024" are digitalization in the transport sector, sustainable development, and AI-based digital solutions. This year's exhibition includes 2,940 companies from 59 countries and 32 international organizations.
The purpose of Azerbaijan Railways's participation in the exhibition is to familiarize themselves with the latest innovative products and digital solutions from the world's leading transport companies and to engage in discussions with representatives of foreign railway administrations.
