The Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways discussed joint activities on the development of the Middle Corridor with his Uzbek Colleague

On September 19-20, 2024, during the consultative meeting of railway administrations' leaders in Baku, dedicated to the establishment of the International Association "Eurasian Transport Route," Rovshan Rustamov, Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC, met with Zufar Narzullaev, Chairman of the Board of Uzbek Railways JSC.

The meeting discussed key areas of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan in the field of transport, as well as other important issues of mutual interest. The importance of strengthening joint efforts within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the railway administrations of the two countries in June of this year was particularly emphasized.

Additionally, an extensive exchange of views took place regarding the diversification of joint activities for the development of the Middle Corridor between the two countries. It was noted that with the implementation of the new Uzbekistan–Kyrgyzstan–China railway project, the Uzbek side will make a significant contribution to the development of the Eurasian Transport Route.
