On March 4, a session of the General Assembly of the International Association "Trans-Caspian International Transport Route" (TITR) was held in Baku.
Delegations from 10 countries participated in the session, including leaders of railway administrations from member states of the association, as well as high-ranking representatives from transport and logistics companies.
It was noted that the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, also known as the Middle Corridor, continues to strengthen its role as one of the key arteries of the regional transport network.
It was emphasized that, within the framework of close cooperation among the countries participating in TITR, comprehensive measures have been implemented to manage cargo operations, including the integration of modern analytical information systems and the creation of real-time cargo tracking services. The introduction of the multimodal platform Digital Trade Corridor by the Singaporean company Global DTC and the Fast Customs system has increased operational transparency and strengthened control mechanisms.
Particular attention was given to the increase in the capacity of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line from 1 million tons to 5 million tons per year and the restoration of cargo operations on this route.
Participants of the event emphasized that the key objective is to improve the efficiency of the cargo transportation system, ensure cargo safety, agree on tariffs, and increase cargo flow speed, which will, in turn, meet the needs of all partners. This approach will create conditions for the long-term success of the countries of the Middle Corridor.
After the discussions, a report on the approved tariff rates for 2025 from the Working Group on the Development of TITR was presented.
A plan for cargo transportation along the Middle Corridor for the current year and measures for its implementation were also approved, and a decision was made to open the International Association of TITR's representative office in the Chinese city of Xi'an.
At the end of the session, a protocol of the meeting was signed, as well as agreements on "Organizing Feeder Services Between the Caspian Sea Ports" and "Ensuring the Loading of Feeder Vessels."
The session continued with the "Middle Corridor via the Caspian Sea" forum, where participants exchanged views on measures to improve maritime cargo transportation and the next steps for the development of this direction.
